There’s something old and something new Allison and Brian’s stylish Metropolitan Building wedding in Long Island City, NY

The Metropolitan Building has a standing tradition in the film and fashion industry for it’s rustic walls, antique relics and stunning light. Many films have been shot there (or borrowed from the thousands of antiques there for on location filming) . Hundreds of fashion and editorial pieces found themselves at home there among the space as well over the years. This made it the ideal backdrop for Allison and Brian.

It was beautiful, half of the guest list was made up of musicians, so they didn’t need to hire a band. Instead they invited them to the party as their friends and there was plenty of live music to keep things lively on the dance floor.

I love that instead of dong a father and daughter dance, the father and brother played a beautiful song as the mother of the bride and bride danced together. Sooo awesome!

As a wedding favor the bride, her mother and the bridesmaids made Coconut Dream Bars together the night before. They were put inside mason jars and tied with the same blue and white polka dotted ribbon the bride tied her shoes with. It was a delicious reminder that not everything beautiful and wonderful comes from a vendor.

I cannot tell you how lovely Allison and Brian are or how warm, gracious and pretty darn funny, their families are. We drove back down to Philadelphia after with big smiles on our faces. It was a beautiful day, with truly beautiful people that I hope to see again really soon.
