Asian American Wedding at Princeton Meadow and The Westin
Sophia and Ron are both residents at local hospitals in the Philadelphia Area. When choosing their venue for their wedding they kept in mind family who would travel from as far as Taiwan so they chose Princeton, NJ. It was close to the home Ron grew up in family and it allowed a lovely tradition where the matriarch of the groom’s family greets the bride and brings her into the home. It symbolizes the bride being officially welcomed as part of the family. Although I have photographed Chinese weddings before, I’d never known about this tradition before. I loved it. Admittedly I loved Ron’s grandmother. She’s the lovely woman with the beaming smile. You won’t miss her in the images I share here.
Ron’s uncle, performed the ceremony and it was beautiful. Afterwards they were greeting with the traditional throwing of the rice (which of course turned into pelting of the rice).
I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I enjoyed making them.
To Sophia and Ron, I wish the two of you many years of happiness in your new life together and I am deeply honored to have been there for the start of your new life as family.
